Let's explore some mindfulness techniques, meditation practices, and habits that promote a balanced and centered lifestyle. Mindful Breathing: Begin your journey into mindfulness with conscious breathing. Take moments throughout the day to focus on your breath, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. This simple practice can calm the mind and reduce stress. Meditation for Clarity: Dedicate time each day to meditation. Whether it's a guided meditation, mindfulness meditation, or transcendental meditation, find a practice that resonates with you. Umoyo’s Artemisia Afra is sourced from the Artemisia plant that is indigenous to Africa, commonly known as African wormwood. The plant is a soft aromatic shrub that is most well known and widely used as traditional medicine in southern Africa. There are different species of Artemisia in the world and because this particular species is only found in Africa, it has the name Afra. Artemisia Afra has several health benefits and has been used for hundreds of years. Here are some of its most common uses and benefits. Malaria Prevention & Treatment Umoyo’s Artemisia Afra helps both prevent & treat malaria because it contains the antimalarial compound, Artemisinin. When the malaria-causing parasite first slips into the human bloodstream, injected by the bite of an infected mosquito, it seeks refuge inside the liver and rapidly reproduces, copying itself as many as 30,000 times. The parasite tricks liver cells into pumping out a protein called Aquaporin-3 and then steals the protein for itself to create a favorable environment for its replication and reproduction. Artemisinin kills the parasites by acting as an inhibitor and deactivates the proteins. This weakens the parasites’ ability to reproduce and survive. Intestinal Detox Apart from malaria-causing parasites, there are also intestinal parasites that may attack the body. These parasites may make their way into our bodies when we eat raw or undercooked meat and seafood, contaminated food from street vendors, when traveling internationally, and by drinking water that isn’t purified and bottled. Some of the symptoms of intestinal parasites being present include dysentery and internal rashes or itching. However, some people can have the parasites for years and yet have no symptoms. That is why is important to do a regular parasite cleanse or detox. Artemisia Afra is an excellent intestinal parasite detoxifier. Flu Umoyo’s Artemisia Afra can also be used to treat and relieve common colds, flu and sinuses issue because of its antiviral properties. Common colds & influenza are caused by viral infections. The essential compounds in Artemisia help by interfering with the virus's ability to replicate when it makes its way into our body. The virus then fails to survive and dies. So if everyone around you is starting to get sick – start taking Umoyo’s Artemisia so you don’t get sick too! Antioxidant And Anti-Inflammatory Umoyo’s Artemisia Afra is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. These amazing properties help protect the body from free radical-induced tissue damage and chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Directions Of Use. For elimination of parasites, detox and treatment of malaria, Umoyo’s Artimisia can be taken as tea. Simply add 2 teaspoons to 1 litre of hot water, stir the mixture, and sip throughout the day. This can easily be done when preparing the tea in a flask. It is recommended to take it for at least 7-14 days for an effective and complete body detox. To further help relieve colds, flue and sinuses, you can simply add the Artemisia to a basin of hot water and inhale the steam (with a towel over your head). Indeed, Artemisis afra is one of the most popular medicinal plants in Southern Africa. Give Umoyo’s Artemisia a try and see the amazing wonders it brings to your health & well being.
